Hi, all! My name us Frank Zavala, and I’m so excited to share my adventures in Tanzania with you. For starters, let me tell you a little about myself. I am from Los Angeles, California, which is a very large city full of life and color. My family is from Mexico and came here when I was about two years old. Los Angeles has been my home ever since. There is always an educational, musical or cultural event going on somewhere in the city, which I really like because it keeps me busy.
I study sociology at the University of California in San Diego. Sociology focuses on how people interact with each other. Along with my studies, I love San Diego because it is always sunny and I live five minutes from the ocean. I like to go surfing and swimming in the waves when I am not busy with class. My favorite thing about the beach, though, is that there are so many dogs that come and play in the sand and water!
I have been lucky to travel to Africa once before. Last summer I went to the western part of Africa and saw the countries of Ghana, Burkina Faso and Togo. I fell in love with the people and how friendly they were. Everyone always had a smile on their face and was willing to help! The countries were also very beautiful and full of plants and flowers. This is one of the reasons I chose to come to Tanzania.
