Hello! My name is Frank, I am excited to tell you all about my time in Tanzania! I live in San Diego, California, which is famous for its 360 days of sunshine. I live very close to the beach and love to ride my bike, jump in the ocean and play fisbee with all the dogs on the beach. Everyone in San Diego is very friendly and greets you as you pass them by, which is my favorite thing about my community. I also live very close to the United States/Mexico border, which is fun because I have the oppourtunity to go into Tijuna, Mexico all the time, to see friends and family. Tijuana is a very friendly and colorful city, full of street vendors and musicians that play music on the streets. I go to the University of Califonia San Diego, or UCSD for short. I study sociology, focusing on international studies. As a sociology student, I study the way people interact with each other in their communities, especially in communities around the world.
I chose to come to Iringa, Tanzania because I have friends form Kenya, which is the country North of Tanzania, and they are some of the most fun and outgoing people I know! As a sociology student, the way that the people of Tanzania live in small and strong communitites that are dependent on friendships, interests me very much. I am excited for this journey and I am so happy to share it with you!
