Hello, Ms. Chahal’s class!
My name is Frida, and I’m so excited to meet all of you! Did you know that I’ve always dreamed of traveling the world? When I was your age, I wondered what it would be like to visit different countries and meet new people. Now, I’m living that dream, studying abroad in Lund, Sweden, for an entire school year! I’m originally from a small town called Ahuacatlán in Mexico, but my family moved to Livingston, California when I was very young, and this is where I grew up, surrounded by big fields of sweet potatoes and orchards full of almonds and peaches.
You might be wondering what life is like here in Sweden, so here are some answers to your questions!
Why am I in Sweden?
I’m here because I wanted to learn more about how schools in Sweden are different from schools in the U.S. I study Economics at the University of Califonia Merced, but this year I’m attending Lund University, which is one of the oldest universities in Sweden! I love learning how things work in different countries, and I’ve always wanted to meet people from all over the world.
How did I get ready for Sweden?
I was a little scared before coming here, especially because I’ve never lived in a place where it snows so much!
