Traveler Bio

Hola! Hello! My name is Gabriela Cuevas, and many people call me Gaby. I am 28 years old and come from sunny Tampa, Florida. I was born and raised on the tropical island of Puerto Rico. I left Puerto Rico and moved to Florida to attend college at the University of South Florida. As soon as I graduated with my Bachelor's degree, I moved to Japan and started working as a teacher. Because of the amazing experience I had in Japan, I made to choice to become a teacher. I went back to school to learn more about teaching, I am a recent graduate from the USF College of Education’s Social Science Education Master’s degree program.

One of my favorite things to teach and learn about is international education, so I applied to the U.S. Fulbright Student Program to gain a different perspective on international education. As a Fulbright grantee in Uruguay, I will teach at two different placement levels for maximum exposure to the Uruguayan culture and its educational environment. I am looking forward to and excited to share my adventures and my passion for education with you, all as we explore this incredible country together. Let's go!
