Paris is packed with all sorts of stores and businesses. The only areas of the city without these shops are the parks, museums, or stations for public transportation. Every other square inch of this city is lined with something to buy. In Paris, it can be easy to become overwhelmed by the amount of places to get food, clothes, home decor, plants and anything else you can think of. If I'm in the mood for a croissant, for example, I can think of 20 places off the top of my head near me to buy one. The question is how do I know where to go?
Luckily, France has a system called Meilleur Ouvrier de France, which translates to "France's Best Craftsperson". Started in 1924, businesses across France are able to participate in a competition to be awarded this title in whatever it is they specialize. This could be anything from baguettes to chocolate to coffee and cover florists, furniture, book-binding...almost anything else that can be found in France. And as you might expect, many of these businesses that are proclaimed to be the very best at what they do can be found in Paris. To find them, simply look for a sign in front of the business that says "MOF".
