"All right?" That’s what British folks say for “Hello!” or “How are you?” My name is Garrett Snedeker and I’m 22 years old. I’m living in London, England. I’m doing a music degree in piano at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. A “conservatoire” is a fancy word for a school where you only study one or two subjects-in this case, music and dance. Did you know that you can go to school to study music? During my school day, I have piano lessons with a piano teacher, create music with other musicians, improvise music and learn about music from all over the world. I’m also taking a class on electronic music, where I use a computer to create sound! Every day, I get to explore my feelings through sound and figure out how to express the feelings I have about myself and the world through music.
Pretty cool, right? I’m also from Ellensburg! I was a sixth-grader at Morgan Middle School in 2008, back in the Tiger era. I remember walking up three flights of stairs every day to my sixth-grade block class for English and Social Studies. You’re so lucky you have your renovated building! We didn’t have any air conditioning. It was stuffy, smelly and sweaty at school. So sweaty!
