Travel News

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

Does anyone love telling ghost stories? I usually get scared, but this ghost story did not involve a flashlight late at night. Believe it or not, one of the coolest places in Buenos Aires is the Recoleta cemetery. What’s so cool about graves? Well, the Recoleta cemetery is so large that it was designed as a city. Each path has a road sign and there are detailed maps to make sure you don’t get lost. You have to be careful and follow the map or the ghosts might get you! Just kidding! Maybe cemeteries give you the creepy crawlies, but here, the grave markers are beautiful. Each tomb is special in design and height. Some have complicated patterns weaved on the walls or statues of angels. Make sure to bring a friend just in case. Don’t worry, I only saw one ghost!

Other Travel News from this week:

Here, schedules work a little differently. This week, I arrived at the airport to take a plane to Buenos Aires. At the front desk, I was nicely told I was going to have to wait for seven hours for my plane! A very long time to wait! Delays are very normal in Argentina. Often, transportation leaves late, and sometimes teachers even show up late to class!

As I sat in the airport I filled up on the most popular snack here, a ham and cheese sandwich. They love ham, and so do I!

Travel teaches you patience. Do you ever get mad at your family member, sibling, or friend when they are going too slow? Together we can learn how to live in “Mañana Land,” which means learning how to go with the flow. This does not apply to homework. You still have to turn that in on time. I know, what a bummer!
