When you take buses, you are contributing to the need for buses and you are one less person in a car or private vehicle which is better for the environment. When so many people take their personal cars, each of those cars runs on fuel and fuel usage is taxing on our environment. Taking public transportation such as buses or trains is a way for groups of people to utilize one mode of transportation. For instance, if a bus is carrying fifty people, that is fifty fewer cars on the road, which leads to less pollution and also less traffic.
