One of the most remarkable things I've noticed about the public transportation system in Paris is how many people use their commute as an opportunity to read a book or newspaper. Even then the metro is crowded during rush hour, you'll likely see people of all ages enjoying reading on the metro!
In certain metro stations, there are special locations designated for live music performance. They even have special lighting and microphones. Commuting in Paris, you're likely to come across at least one person playing an instrument or singing. If you're lucky, a musician might even hop on your subway car to sing and play guitar or an accordion. Once, an accordion player sang "Despacito" on my train! Have you ever seen a street performer on the subway?
