Hejsa (Hiya)! My name is Hannah and I am a class of 2026 Wellesley College student studying in the wonderful city of Copenhagen, Denmark in Northern Europe. I’ve lived in a few different places! I grew up in the tropical Miyazaki prefecture on Kyushu island in Japan before moving to the states where we eventually settled in North Texas.
Moving around was hard, but I was always so excited to meet new friends and see cool places! Growing up, I loved learning about identity, cultural connection, and reconnection -- how to cook Kyushu traditional food and how to write country music. At school, I study International Relations--Political Science and Japanese studies, so being in Copenhagen is a very new but very exciting shift!
Here, I take courses with DIS Study Abroad program that focus on International Refugee Law, European politics and European storytelling. Using these courses, my travel around Scandinavia and my own multicultural upbringing, I’m excited to share the multicultural and historic aspects of Denmark! Godt at møde dig (nice to meet you)!
