When I first arrived in South Korea, I was really excited but also extremely nervous. Moving across the world by myself to study in a completely different country felt very overwhelming at times. I was worried about the language barrier, homesickness, making friends and whether I would truly be able to adapt to life here. However, these past few months in Seoul have become some of the most important and unforgettable experiences of my life.

Through this exchange, I was able to experience Korean culture in ways I never could have through the internet or media alone. I got to walk under the cherry blossoms, explore busy streets full of lights and music, visit beautiful traditional places, take dance classes, try new foods and meet people from all around the world. I also learned many smaller things about everyday life in Korea, such as how people use public transportation, the importance of respect and education and how traditions continue to exist even in such a modern city.

One of my favorite parts of this experience was being able to share these moments with all of you through my articles and presentations. Writing about my experiences helped me appreciate them even more. I loved being able to answer your questions and compare our cultures.
