Traveler Bio

Xin chao! Hello! My name is Hayley Jensen and I am 23 years old. I am from Washingtonville, New York, which is a small town about an hour outside of New York City. Growing up along the Hudson River, I did a lot of hiking, skiing, and boating. My favorite fun fact is that I got my pilot's license when I was in high school, so I learned to drive a car and fly a plane at the same time.

When I graduated high school I went to a small school in Burlington, Vermont, called Saint Michael's College. I studied international relations, with minors in teaching English as a second language and peace and justice. I loved my time in Burlington, spending lots of time in the mountains and swimming in the lake! I also worked for an afterschool program and summer camp, which inspired my passion for working with students and teaching.

After graduating from college, I went to work for an international volunteering organization in southern Thailand for six months before receiving a Fulbright grant to teach in Vietnam. After three weeks of orientation in Hanoi, where I met the rest of my Fulbright cohort, I flew to my host institution in Hue, Vietnam. Now I am settling into my new city, teaching English for Hue University's School of Hospitality and Tourism. I am so excited to share my adventures here with you.
