I had arrived in Brazil!
I continued my journey to my final destination, Belém. Belém is in the Amazonian state of Pará. I spent three months in Brazil, working, studying and practicing my Portuguese. By the time I returned to the US, I knew I needed to go back to Brazil again.
In order to prepare to go back to Brazil, I collaborated with a science laboratory that studies one of the most severe cases of malaria, cerebral malaria. In 2019, I created the project that I am working on here in Belém, Brazil!
I am a scientist, and I spend most days working in the science lab, even on the weekends! Although I am fairly busy, I still find some spare time to explore the natural beauty of the Amazon region. I'm looking forward to sharing more of my adventures with you all.
