Hiya! My name is I’Maya Gibbs, but you can call me Maya. I am 20 years old and from New Orleans, Louisiana! Growing up in New Orleans, I loved tasting our delicious food, listening to live jazz music, and seeing theatre shows. For college, I left New Orleans and headed to Ohio to study theatre, history, and African American studies at Case Western Reserve University.
I really wanted to attend an international performing arts school dedicated to artistic education, so I applied to and was graciously accepted by the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art’s semester theatre program in London, United Kingdom. With more than 250 theatres in London and over 9.3 million theatre-goers, the city is the theatre capital of the world! I love theater and hope to learn more about acting, dancing, singing--and maybe even learn a British accent! I hope you will join me on this adventure.
I am a Fund for Education Abroad scholarship recipient.
