Traveler Bio

Hi! I'm India, a 23-year-old from New York City, but living in Düsseldorf, Germany for the upcoming school year to teach English to middle and high schoolers. I've always loved languages – I took Mandarin, Latin, a little Greek, and German in high school, then German and a bit of Italian in college. I'm looking forward to being able to teach what I love!

In college, I majored in Earth Sciences, writing a thesis about glaciers and the way they affect landscapes. After college, I moved to Boulder, Colorado to work for a year and take advantage of the amazing outdoors there (see photo!). I skiied, hiked, and spent a year admiring the mountains, but ultimately, I am excited to return to a city. I've spent some time in Germany before, but never in Nordrhein-Westfalen, the state I'll be living and teaching in, and I'm curious to explore what Düsseldorf and the nearby cities of Cologne and Essen have to offer. In my free time, I love surfing, photography, and live music. I can't wait to share my discoveries with you all!
