Traveler Bio

Hello, my name is Isabel, and I am from a small town in Connecticut, USA. Growing up, I loved taking trips around the states and learning about history and local culture. My favorite subjects in school were music and science and many of my hobbies involve nature since I love the outdoors. As a kid, I always dreamed of traveling to different countries to learn more about foreign culture.

Prior to my volunteer service, I worked different jobs usually involving animals, and my love for learning eventually inspired me to return to school. I attended college in Lorain, Ohio, where I studied environmental science and psychology, before being accepted into The Peace Corps.

I am currently serving as a youth and sports development coordinator in Belize, Central America. I live in Corozal, the northern most district of the country, on the Mexican border. My job allows me to engage in many volunteer projects in my community, and assist with sports training and life skills knowledge. I arrived in September 2023, and will be here until November 2025. I enjoy learning the language and culture, and like to cook and read while I am at home. I spend my free time with friends, eating new foods, talking with my family and exploring this new country I call home. I am grateful to spend my service building relationships with people around me, and I look forward to my second year of service.

The Peace Corps is an international service network of volunteers, community members, host country partners, and staff who are driven by the agency’s mission of world peace and friendship. At the invitation of governments around the world, Peace Corps Volunteers work alongside community members on locally-prioritized projects. Learn how you can #ServeBoldy with the Peace Corps.
