This week, I traveled to Italy, which is further south than Switzerland! To start, I flew to Sicily, which is an island at the southern end of Italy. Sicily is best known for its sunny weather and beaches. In the summertime, it is a popular spot for people to take a vacation. Even in January the weather was about 50 degrees Fahrenheit, with a lot of sun. This is a lot warner than Geneva, which was about 30 degrees Fahrenheit this week!
As I moved north from Sicily, first to Rome and then to Florence, the weather did get a bit colder. I had to bring a jacket with me to stay warm, but I did not experience any rain or cloudy weather while I was in Italy.
At the end of the week when I came back to Switzerland, I felt a huge cold shock: on arriving into Geneva, it was only 25 degrees Fahrenheit!
