This week, I traveled throughout Italy while my university was on break. First, I took a 718 mile flight from Geneva to Sicily, which is an island to the south of Italy. Then, I flew 307 miles from Sicily to Rome, the capital city. From Rome, a train took me 144 miles north to Florence, another beautiful city set in the beautiful countryside of the Tuscany region. Finally, I returned home on another 300 mile train ride back to Geneva.
That means that I traveled a total of 1,469 miles in just one week! I went from the deep south of Italy (Sicily) all the way to the northernmost part of the country. Since Italy is a relatively small country, it did not take too much time to jump from place to place and see a lot of interesting cities.
From the very beginning of this journey, I have traveled a total of 5,695 miles!
This week, I traveled between countries and cities as well as within those cities! To get from Geneva to Sicily at the start of my trip, I took a flight. Even though I was going to an international destination, the flight only took about two hours! One thing that I love about living in Europe is how close the countries are to each other.
