Although I have only met a small number of orphans in Can Tho, I would say the need is being met by caring and compassionate caretakers at the orphanage. In addition, several different volunteer groups help to educate and mentor the orphans. The children seem happy and enjoy each other's company. They have a big family of brothers and sisters to grow up with! I've visited a Buddhist pagoda that houses and educates orphans as well, and have heard that several other Buddhist organizations provide for orphans. Fortunately, many different groups and individuals in the Can Tho community support orphans. However, there is always more work to be done to ensure that every orphan is loved, supported and cared for.
