Day in the Life of a Moroccan!

I speak Darija, the Moroccan dialect. I am fluent in English and Arabic I can hold a conversation in French. Additionally, I know a little Chinese. In Darija, we say "Salam" to greet someone.

Nadir: I speak 3 languages. Arabic, English and French. We say "سلام عليكم" (Salam Al-lay-koom), or withthe  familiar darjia dialect when we greet friends we say "أفين" (Afeen). 

Do you have pets?:

Hoda: ⁠I don't have any pets, but if I did, I would love to have a rabbit because they are cute and full of energy.

Nadir: I have a cat named "Michou".

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

Hoda: I haven’t traveled abroad yet, but I have visited many beautiful cities within Morocco.

Nadir: I have traveled to many Moroccan cities such as Rabat, Tanger, Casablanca, Marrakesh, Tetouan, Ifran, Fes, etc...

What do you do for work?:

Hoda: I work as an English teacher, and I am also a master’s student pursuing higher education.

Nadir: I don't have a job yet. I'm focusing more on university right now.

 

Is there anything else you would like to say to students in the United States?:

Hoda: To students in the United States, I want to say: Keep learning, stay curious, always be open to new knowledge and experiences, and explore different perspectives. Language and culture are powerful tools that help us connect with people from all over the world!

Nadir: I would say, enjoy every second of each day and spend it well.
