What jobs do your parents have?:

Y: My mom is a pharmacist (yakuzaishi).

M: Office worker (koumuin). 

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

M: Usually, I leave home at 7:30 am.

Y: I usually leave at 6:40 am. 

M: I usually get home at 5:00pm. In Japan, school is seven hours long.

Y: Usually, high school is seven hours long, I get home at 6:00pm. 

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

M: I get to school by 9 o'clock. By train, from eramitsu station. 

Y: I arrive at my school at 8:20, by bus.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

M: Cafeteria.

Y: I usually eat at the cafeteria, but sometimes in my classroom.

M: My favorite lunch is soba noodles.

Y: my favorite is jiyaga (meat and potatoes).

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:


Y: Only Japanese. But I have an English speaking friend. He's half American. 

M: We say konnichiwa.

Y: My school is very rich. So we say gokigenyou. It is similar to ohayou gozaimasu (good morning).

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

Y: My school is girls only. Popular name is Aoi.

M: Popular girls name is Shiori. Boys name is Yuuki. 

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

M: Japanese. Math. Science. Social Studies.

Y: History. Geography. Home Economics. Ethics.
