A Bit About Me!

As part of my studies, I was lucky enough to travel to London, England and Madrid, Spain. While I was abroad, I learned about different types of media that people interact with during their lives. In London, I studied theater—I went to 24 different performances in just 10 weeks! I spent my time in Madrid studying the picture books in their public libraries.

As I was finishing college, I knew that I wanted to keep studying the way that different cultures interact with other parts of the world. So I applied for a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship grant, and I got it! That’s what I’m doing this year: teaching English in a Spanish elementary school. I work with about 300 different students between 3 and 8 years old each week.

I don’t spend all my time in school or reading, though. When I’m not doing either of those two things, I like to run, cook, and watch Netflix (usually not all at the same time). I’m especially enjoying the nice weather, since I'm so close to the equator. It’s much nicer to go running here than it was in Minnesota’s very cold winters or North Carolina’s very hot summers.

So that’s a little bit about me. I’m so excited to share a little bit of my life with you over the next few months.

Un abrazo fuerte (a strong hug),

James
