My favorites were the mobula rays (Mobula munkiana), manta rays (Mobula birostris), sergeant major fish (Abudefduf saxatilis), bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus), and california sea lions (Zalophus californianus).
The coolest things I saw in nature this week were two local manta rays, named Maru and Pancho, interacting with each other! Pancho was chasing Maru, which happens between mantas during courtships, or prior to mating. Pancho is a juvenile (or teenager!) so he isn't ready yet to mate. He could have been practicing for the future, which is common among many different species of animals.
It is nearly whale shark season in La Paz! Once seven sharks are present in the Bahía de La Paz, the season will open for tourists to meet and swim with the biggest fish in the sea.
