Our News

What music did I listen to this week?:

I listened to a lot of Manu Chao this week. He sings in seven languages, so his music is great if you want to learn some new words!

What activity was the most fun this week?:

The most fun activity of the week was swimming with the sea lions. Although the name in Spanish, lobos marinos, translates in English to "sea wolves", they mostly remind me of puppies. They are very playful and will sometimes even chew on your fins and snorkel!

What did I read this week?:

This week, I read a lot of scientific papers, which is typical. Scientific articles can be difficult to read sometimes, even for scientists! Scientists have even written articles teaching other scientists the best way to read scientific articles. As you can imagine, it's not always light reading! So I also listened to "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" in audiobook format.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

Although I didn't play any games, my dogs Diego and Kiko played "keep away" every time I tried to put them indoors to leave the house without them. They love a good adventure just as much as any explorer, and hate staying home.

Other news from this week:

Día de Muertos is approaching, and so festivities are beginning in many parts of Mexico! Día de Muertos is a festival whose origins are "prehispanic", or have roots prior to the arrival and colonization of Mexico by Spain in 1521. Día de Muertos is a beautiful multi-day celebration that celebrates the lives of friends and family members who have died.
