Hey there! My name is Jennifer Choe and I am currently a 21-year-old, studying abroad in Madrid, Spain. This is the second semester of my junior year at Emory University, and I can't wait to spend the entire semester in Spain. I have been taking Spanish language classes since I was 14 years old, and I chose to come to Spain to not only further my knowledge of the Spanish language, but also to immerse myself in Spanish culture!
Even before I entered college, I always knew that I wanted to study abroad in a Spanish-speaking country. Throughout my time in college, I have taken many courses towards my Spanish major, but I've been itching to have the opportunity to utilize the language in an immersive setting. This is the first time I have left the United States for a prolonged period of time. While I am nervous, I know that this opportunity will allow me to grow as a person and to see the world in ways I never have before.
Through the generosity of the Gilman Scholarship, I am now in Spain and ready to learn! In my spare time, I will be traveling throughout both Spain and the rest of Europe. I will be taking photos and recording footage throughout my journey. I look forward to having you follow along!
