Traveler Bio

Hello, everyone.  My name is Jen and I am currently from Gwinn, Michigan. Growing up I got to visit and live in countries, from Panama to Iceland to Ghana. I loved getting to meet new people and learn about different cultures. This year, I had the opportunity to join the Peace Corps and come to Morocco. I have been in Morocco for six months and have had so much fun learning Arabic and learning about the culture here. I live in a small city in the central part of Morocco. I love volunteering and teaching English to students of all ages. I help my students learn English and they help me learn Arabic!

I have had many jobs, but my favorite jobs have been teaching and being a social worker. I love helping people learn new things and get the resources they need to help them be successful. I also love learning new things myself! Recently, I went back to school to get a degree in accounting, so I can help people with their money in the future. In my free time, I love spending time outdoors. Some of my favorite things to do are hiking, camping, kayaking, and cross-skiing. I am very excited to share my journey with you. I look forward to learning all about you too!

Peace Corps Volunteers like me live and work side by side with community members around the world, collaborating on locally prioritized projects, building relationships, exchanging cultures and knowledge, and helping transform lives for generations. Learn more by clicking here.
