Many patients only speak Creole, and we have to rely on Creole interpreters that can sometimes only translate Creole to Spanish. I then translate Spanish to English for the doctors. I have been on lots of excursions and retreats with my church and have met people with beautiful hearts, resourceful attitudes and deep curiosity for the world. I have found deep commonalities with people I would have never expected. It is an experience I will value forever.
