Hello friends! My name is Jessica Cervantes. I am 21 years old and I’m from Chicago. Living in Chicago has allowed me to enjoy Lake Michigan by going on bike rides along the lakefront trails or even driving a few minutes to the beach during the summertime. For college, I decided to stay in Chicago to study Psychology. During my whole college experience, I often found myself feeling regretful of not moving away to indulge myself in a new environment like the rest of my friends did. It was during my junior year of college that I decided to apply to a Florence study abroad program with the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE), in anticipation of learning about a different culture. Currently, I am in my last year of college, where I will be completing my fall semester in Florence, Italy. I am looking forward to sharing my experiences in living in a new environment where I am exposed to plenty of unique foods, architecture, and historic landmarks.
