Life in the Eyes of Chiko

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

I study math, English, Chichewa, science and social science.  I like Chichewa class the best because I enjoy the stories we read.

What is your homework like?:

For homework, the teacher usually writes exercises on the chalkboard.  I copy them into my notebook and complete them at home.

What do you like to do after school? Do you have a favorite sport or game?:

After school I like to play soccer with other boys in my area.  Sometimes I play with my little sister and climb trees, and on weekends my cousins often visit us.

Who is your favorite famous person?:

Nelson Mandela is my hero because he worked to end apartheid in South Africa.

What kinds of music do you listen to?:

I listen to musicians such as Shakira and Rihanna, and I also like gospel music.  My parents have some of these songs on their phones.

What would you like to be when you grow up?:

I would like to be a doctor or a lawyer when I grow up.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?:

I would like to go to China because they have good universities there.

What do you know or think about the United States?:

The United States has big buildings with elevators.  Everyone is rich and has fast cars.
