I had one growing up as a kid and I knew the distinct sound from a mile away. A few were on the branches eating bread they'd found on the ground. Others were breaking the twigs off of the trees and flying away with them to make a nest.
The bougainvillea flowers are blooming in Spain. These are the same flowers that can commonly be seen in Greece as well as in Italy.
