Hej, friends! My name is Jing-Jing. I am 22 years old. I am from Cleveland, Ohio (where basketball player LeBron James calls home!). Last spring, I graduated from Harvard, where I studied Chemistry and Government. I am excited about science and politics. They overlap to make renewable energy technologies possible!
When I was 17, I saw a flexible solar cell, made in Denmark! Solar cells, which turn sunlight into energy, are usually flat and hard. But this one wasn’t––you could bend it! Inspired by this, after college (and supported by a U.S. Fulbright Research Grant), I came to Denmark. At the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), I take classes and run experiments with fuel cells. Like solar cells, fuel cells can use clean power to make electricity, with no pollution!
Besides leading the world in technology, Denmark is one of the happiest countries. There are a lot of things that make me happy here. I enjoy learning languages, and I am taking Danish now (the language of Denmark). It is so fun to make new friends from around the world, cook new recipes, run outdoors, and sing karaoke.
I also love biking around the country. Exploring Denmark has been such a good time. And you won't need a bike or train to join me––I am delighted to share our adventures through this blog!
