Journey Farewell :(

We are entering dry season here, so the weather is getting super hot, and there is no break from the heat. I'm starting to miss Chicago winters (crazy, i know). I will be staying with my current host family for the rest of my time here, continuing to learn Spanish, and be a part of their family. They have even started making my room bigger, since I'll be here for another year and a half. They truly view me as their ninth kid, which is such a privilege.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to explain a little more about what the Peace Corps is, in case any of you are interested in joining one day! I would highly reccommend it. The Peace Corps sends American volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to countries, who have requested volunteers, to work on locally-prioritized projects. These projects are focused on education, health, environment, agriculture, youth development, and/or community economic development. I am currently working on a project under the youth development sector. The main goal of the Peace Corps is not only to promote peace and friendhsip across cultures, but to also helping foreign countries meet their needs for trained personnel, promote a better understanding of Americans among people served, and foster a better understanding of other cultures on the part of Americans. It is an amazing way to live in other cultures and experience other parts of the world. As a volunteer, you are fully exposed to a new way of life. It is not only an honor, but an amazing experience! If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask your teacher to reach out, or you can even ask Ms. Levy (my mom) and have her ask me, too.

I have loved being able to share my experiences with you all and enjoyed learning more about you.
