Shout out to the Kinmen Kids!

Usually chicken, pork or beef will be cooked into this dish as well.

What is your house like?:

Elly answered this question about her house. She wrote, "Our family lives together in a big house. Our family lives on the third floor. My aunt's family with my cousins lives on the second floor. My uncle's family lives on the first floor."

What chores do you have at home?:

Tom answered that he has to help his family at home with washing plates, cleaning the floor and doing laundry. Sometimes he also has to help with babysitting.

What jobs do your parents have?:

Tom and Ian's dad is a truck driver in the U.S. Angel's parents own and run a hotel. Ryan's mom works at the post office and his dad sells peanut candy. Surprisingly, Elly's parents have the same jobs as Ryan's parents! One of Amy's parents works at the Kinmen liquor factory and the other is a nurse. Andy's parents are both teachers. Lastly, Star's dad is a firefighter and her mom is a public servant.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

The students arrive between 7:00 and 7:40 a.m. and leave at 5:30. The first class period starts at 8:40 and our last class period ends at 3:50. The other time is used for sports, doing homework and other learning activities.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

Tom gets to school by walking and it takes him about 15 minutes. He tells me he is allowed to walk on his own. I think most of the students at our elementary school get dropped off and picked up by their parents. Many middle schoolers take the bus or ride their bike.
