I was always vaguely sweaty, but so was everyone else! It was wonderfully freeing. My new friends and I joked that we were becoming the most disgusting versions of ourselves because we weren’t able to wash all the sunscreen or dirt off. We were camping and going to the bathroom in the bush. I thought it would bother me, but I felt wonderful. Nature doesn’t care who you are, how you look or how fancy your gear is. All that matters is what you came to do and how determined you are to get it done.
I’m off to sleep for my last night under the Namibian stars, which are so beautiful. I hope you find your expedition. Perhaps it is a walk in the woods this weekend or camping in your backyard. This is where the adventurous spirit and heart starts in us all. Slow down and be in nature, listen and look around you. Be free and wild and see who you become. You may just find you are at the start of something wonderful!
