A Day in the Life of Nikki, Khon Kaen University Student

I usually buy it at the market, the mall and anywhere else. If I feel like the clothes are cool or right for me, I’ll buy it.

What do you like to do in your free time?:

I love to go to the market. The market here is pretty different from markets in the United States. At the market here, people sell things that are displayed on the ground. They can be things like handmade, traditional items or second-hand clothes.

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

I speak Thai, English, German and Lao. In Thai, girls say, "sawatdee khaa," and boys say, "sawatdee krupp."

Do you have pets?:

I have two dogs and one cat. My dogs are named Krati and Krapi, and my cat is named Mira.

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

I have traveled mostly throughout Europe. I have been to Italy, Paris, Austria, Germany, Japan, Singapore and South Korea. I love to travel. My mom lives in Austria, so I go there to visit her in the summertime.

What do you do for work?:

I’m a student, so I take classes. I study German for my major. I’m a sophomore, or second year college student. I also work as a singing teacher. I teach kids from five to seven years old. I teach both Thai songs and English songs.

Is there anything else you would like to say to students in the United States?:

Hi guys! I want you to come here and experience something new. Thailand is beautiful and Thai people love to smile, just like me! I want to meet you! So come!
