The evening ended with a scenic walking tour of the Trastevere neighborhood, where we reflected on the past few days.
Day 4: Wrapping Up the Study Tour
On the final day, we had a debriefing session with the U.S. Mission to discuss the key takeaways from the tour. It was a moment to reflect on the knowledge and experiences we had gained. Saying goodbye to the people I had met on this journey was bittersweet! Howeger, I left with a sense of gratitude and new aspirations for my academic and professional future.
This trip wasn’t just about visiting historical sites; it was about exploring how international organizations are addressing some of the world’s most pressing issues. It opened my eyes to the importance of global cooperation, and I feel motivated to continue learning about global food security and sustainability. The opportunity to meet like-minded students from across Europe was invaluable, and I’m leaving with lasting memories and connections that I know will influence my future.
I am incredibly grateful to the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship program and the U.S. Mission to the UN Agencies in Rome for this life-changing experience. I will carry the lessons from this study tour with me as I continue my academic journey and pursue a career focused on making a positive impact on global food security. Thank you, Rome, for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure!
