Getting From Place to Place in Florence

I have only taken the public bus once and a taxi twice. The taxis are very easy to use and essential when you need to get to the airport. There is a special app on your phone that lets you call and even reserve a taxi in advance! The trains here are also very easy to use. In under an hour and for less than €50, I can buy a ticket to the surrounding cities of Pisa, Bologna, Rome or Milan.

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

Yes, the methods of transportation here are very interconnected to the culture and environment. Public transportation is so heavily relied upon because the narrow and crowded streets means most people would not have a place to store their car. The Italian culture is also known for having little privacy, so they really don't mind sharing a ride with other people. Italians are also known for their delicious foods. Walking an average of 10 miles a day means Italians can stay fitter longer while eating whatever they want!
