There is a special app on your phone that lets you call and even reserve a taxi in advance! The trains here are also very easy to use. In under an hour and for less than €50, I can buy a ticket to the surrounding cities of Pisa, Bologna, Rome or Milan.

Public transportation is so heavily relied upon because the narrow and crowded streets means most people would not have a place to store their car. The Italian culture is also known for having little privacy, so they really don't mind sharing a ride with other people. Italians are also known for their delicious foods.
