Bonjour (Greetings)! My name is Karina Ruiz Lopez. I was born and raised for six years in Oaxaca, Mexico. Afterward, I grew up in Harrisburg, Oregon. I attend college at Oregon State University (Go Beavers)! My passion for health and service led me to pursue a major in public health with an option in health promotion and health behavior. I've enjoyed my college experience and have always dreamed of studying abroad in Europe. This led me to apply to a gblobal health and development policy program with the School for International Training. I applied to the U.S. Gilman Scholarship for financial help. I successfully accomplished these goals and today I'm living in a beautiful village named Saint-George and taking classes in Nyon, Switzerland. Aside from studying what I love, I also enjoy traveling, experiencing new cultures, dancing and have recently picked up photography! I'm excited to share this amazing journey and am looking forward to learning and connecting with you all this academic year!
