Traveler Bio

I was born in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico but moved to the Unite States at sixteen-years old. I was raised speaking both English and Spanish while also developing a love for learning other languages. I grew up surrounded by color and music, I loved the Mexican traditons and cuisine. I moved to Portland, Oregon which was a huge difference from the small town life I was used to. The big city was overwhelming but it was a good change.

I finished high school in the USA and attended Portland State University for four years where I graduated with a double major in psychology and international studies. I learned about Peace Corps during my junior year of high school and decided then I was going to become a volunteer. I worked hard to become competitive and eventually applied when I graduated college. While preparing to become a volunteer I worked as an interpreter for a local immigrant organization.

Finally, I was able to arrive in Paraguay, where I am now living. I live in a small rural town that is filled with cows and motorcycles. Most people do not use cars and the weather is very humid. Life here is slow and simple but that does not mean there is not work to do. In this community people are kind and the work here has started ramping up. Cannot wait to share more with you!
