Viva El Paro Nacional! Long Live the National Strike!

A national strike started in Colombia on November 21st, and has continued for over a week now. The government is not treating its citizens fairly, and now the people are protesting for change.

The government has decreased taxes for enterprises and increased taxes on the middle class, and has not maintained peace agreements
Students are protesting because the government has taken away funding for public universities and has decreased the minimum wage for youth
Adults are protesting because the government raised the retirement age and lowered the value of the pension
Most importantly, people are protesting to end corruption
The beginning of the strike was full of energy and cheering, and there was an aerial acrobatics performance
The marches blocked the streets in order to bring attention and awareness to their cause
A cacerolazo is a popular form of protest where people bang pots and pans in order to call for attention
