Traveler Bio

They call me Bond, Kathryn Bond. Actually, most people call me Kate. I grew up the oldest of five children on a tree farm in Norman, Oklahoma. After graduating with a Master’s degree in International Studies in 2018, I moved to Mexico City with the Fulbright Binational Business Program. I enjoyed my time in Mexico so much that after the grant, I accepted a job in Queretaro, Mexico.

It has been such a joy to live out the dream that I formed when I was 14 years old. I still vividly remember sitting in my Spanish class for the first time. My teacher spoke only Spanish throughout the class, and I might have understood a total of five percent of the class. Unfortunately, I didn’t understand my first homework assignment! However, I grew to love the class and the challenge it presented. Eleven years later, I live out my daily life almost exclusively in Spanish.

My journey to bilingualism is one of hilarious language mishaps and countless hours of watching telenovelas--all resulting in an opportunity for the adventure of a lifetime. I am looking forward to sharing my adventures with you! Let's go!
