Hi everyone! My name is Kathryn Howell, but you can call me Kate, and I am so excited to share my life in another country with all of you! I grew up in a town near Chicago called Barrington. When I was little, I always loved learning new things. I went to college called Butler University to become a teacher because I wanted to help kids learn too. After I finished college, I decided I wanted to try something new and move to another country! Now I live in a place called Slovakia. Slovakia is in the middle of Europe. It has tall mountains, pretty forests, and many old towns. The town I live in is called Zvolen. It has a big castle that looks like it came from a fairy tale. Here in Zvolen, I work at a high school, which they call a Gymnazium, and help students practice English. Living in Slovakia is a big adventure for me. It is the second country I have ever visited outside the United States. At first, I felt a little nervous to come here, but now I feel excited every day. I love trying new foods, hearing a new language, and exploring new places. I can’t wait to keep learning more about Slovakia, and I am so happy I can share my adventure with all of you!
