Traveler Bio

Hola a todos! (hello everyone),

I am Kate Martinez Palmero, and I am 21 years old. I was born in New York City and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, until I was 17, when I moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, a small city known for its history and one of the oldest Amish communities in the country. I attend Franklin & Marshall College and study Economics and Business, Organization, & Society. My future career goal is to become a financial analyst, in which I would communicate important business information to help leaders make smarter financial decisions!

Now, I am studying in Seville, a city located in southern Spain. Long ago, ships would sail between Spain and the Dominican Republic, making Spain an important country during the time when people first traveled between Europe and the Americas. Studying here gives me the opportunity to explore the intersection of history and influence important to my heritage.

Since I was younger, I have always been curious about traveling the world and interacting with different cultures. I would sit in my room watching international TV, travel vlogs, discovering music, reading international news, and learning new languages! I began appreciating different cultures and used to imagine myself traveling around the world. In my free time, I enjoy archery, traveling, journaling, and playing chess.
