The weather this week has been chilly, but not too cold. People tell me that this winter is unusually warm. We haven’t had any snow yet, but it’s almost always cloudy and foggy.
I saw a gorilla, a lion, and a polar bear...at the zoo at least. This weekend I went to the Hellabrunn Zoo in Munich, which was tons of fun! Outside of the zoo, there are lots of opportunities to see animals in Mallersdorf. Mallersdorf is a rural town, so you can see lots of animals in the nearby fields. This week I saw a partridge and carrion crows. Carrion crows are like American crows, but much bigger. I also saw a lot of farm animals. The nuns in Mallersdorf Abbey keep many farm animals, grow fruits and vegetables, and run a brewery. Because I live across the street from the abbey, I see the goats and cows every day.
