Wow! I cannot believe that this experience has nearly come and gone. I was so scared of the unknown before I came to Rwanda.
When I came to this country, everything was slightly weird to me and somewhat challenging to get used to. I learned so much, met so many people, ate and cooked lots of Rwandan food and truly enjoyed myself. By the end of this experience, life in Rwanda has become so routine. Learning to adapt to a new place has been very exciting and fun for me. It was a bit of a challenge, of course, but I am learning every day that challenges are the way we get better, learn more and grow.
I am so thankful for being able to make memories in Rwanda, for all of the beautiful days and the people who made me feel so welcome and took care of me during my time in this country. I know that this will have a lasting impact on my life and career choices, in general. I definitely want to see more of the world and am excited to expand my horizons even more after this trip to Rwanda. I am so grateful for being able to have this time to explore and learn about a new place. In Kinyarwanda, we say murakoze cyane! That is, thank you very much!
And thank you, Mrs. Stambaugh's class, for being with me during this time!
