During the rainy season, people often cannot get to work on time because of the lack of transportation. It is similar to our snow days. People will come into work late and their bosses will not even ask them why they are later; they know that it is because of the rain!
The environment here only allows the land to grow certain crops, and people have certainly adapted in this regard. The diet here consists of only a few items, as we have discussed before, and there are very few imports from other countries (imports are goods that cannot be produced here and instead come from other countries).
