The main languages they speak here are English and Irish. The Irish language has made a major comeback in recent years. It has been very interesting to hear my Irish friends dicuss their experiences learning the language in school. There are particular areas in Ireland, known as the Gaeltacht, where Irish is the primary language. Sometimes children in Ireland go out to those areas for a period of time to be immersed in the language. I've been trying to pick some up on Duolingo but it is quite hard.
Ireland is part of the European Union and they use euros. In Northern Ireland, which is on the island of Ireland but is part of the UK rather than the Republic of Ireland, pounds are used.
Water typically costs between two and three euros. This can vary depending on the area you are in (typically prices are higher in areas catering to tourists).
In Galway, there is a very popular pizza place called Dough Bros. It uses a lot of local ingredients and has some creative options. My friends and I tried a butter chicken pizza and a chorizo with hot honey pizza. Both were delicious.
