Bienvenidos (Welcome) to La Palma

Just as in Camino, there are many apple farms in New Hampshire, and I went apple picking a few times.

Dartmouth had a program for students to study Spanish in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, and I applied to take part in it. I loved studying Argentinian art and history, volunteering in the community and learning about how people in from different cultures have diverse perspectives.

Before I graduated, I applied for for a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Spain, and I was so excited to be selected! I am teaching English at an elementary school in the capital of La Palma, one of the Canary Islands. Even though the Canary Islands are part of Spain, they are actually are closer to Africa. La Palma is known for its hiking (over 1,000 kilometers of trails!), delicious plantains, and stargazing. It is one of the best places to see stars in the world, and scientists from many countries work in the observatory here. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been and the people are so kind. I can’t wait to share the journey with you!
