Greetings! Hola!
My name is Kat. I am 22 years old, and I am from Highland, Indiana, a suburb 45 minutes away from Chicago, Illinois. I have two older sisters who live in San Diego, California and Seattle, Washington. I try to visit them as often as I can because we love traveling and going on adventures together through beautiful mountainous landscapes. The rest of my family lives in Indiana. My mom grew up in southern Indiana on a farm, and over the years they had pigs, horses, many different types of birds, cats, and dogs. My parents and two sisters all went to college at Purdue University’s main campus, so I am super excited to be the last in our immediate family to graduate this May! My dad passed away 11 years ago. I know he would be so proud of me for being a double major in psychology and Spanish! He was a metallurgical engineer who taught himself Portuguese.
I am so ready to move onto the next stage of my life. This summer I will be living at home with my parents while I job shadow my step-sister as a marriage and family therapist. My original plan after graduation was to move to Argentina or Spain to continue my journey in learning the different dialects and cultures of Spanish.
