Traveler Bio

Hola (Hello)! My name is Kerrigan Ponsart and I'm excited to share my journey with you all! I am 22 years old and originally from Cleveland, Ohio. I spent the majority of my life in Cleveland, but have also briefly lived in Washington D.C., Seville, and Juneau. My hobbies include reading, playing tennis, and traveling (of course!). I attended a small university near Cleveland called Baldwin Wallace University where I studied Political Science and International Studies. During college, I had an internship in D.C., lived there for a semester, and then backpacked through Europe and studied abroad in Seville, Spain. After graduating, I moved to Alaska and worked in youth development for Big Brothers Big Sisters in the capital of Juneau!

Since then, I've been embarking on my current adventure as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the beautiful country of Ecuador. I live in the central Andes and work with the local government on youth development initiatives. What that basically means is that I work with kids in workshops or after-school clubs! I am excited to share my adventures with you all and cannot wait to hear about your journeys as well!

Peace Corps Volunteers like me live and work side by side with community members around the world, collaborating on locally prioritized projects, building relationships, exchanging cultures and knowledge, and helping transform lives for generations. Learn more by clicking here.
